Hey I was wondering how much does the purple in Turnitin have an impact on our grade? to be more specific when the articles are graded as well as the HW, there is purple highlights, are these accounted as part of what we get for our grade?

The purple highlights are automated grammar checking comments. You should look at them, both for your own information *and* because I or the TAs might have given you a comment to go along with the automated feedback, but they are not factored into your grade.
If you click on the rubric icon on the lower right of the screen (it kind of looks like a Rubic's cube missing the upper left block), the grading rubric will appear on the right side of the screen. Each graded element shows up there, along with the number of points you got on that element. If you move your mouse over the values (10, 5, 0), it will give you the criteria associated with each score. So, for instance, hovering over the 10 will give you the criteria for a full credit response, whereas hovering over 5 or 0 will give you the error made that prevents a response from garnering full credit.
