Reporting the Means...
Thanks for the helpful information regarding the means we have to report. But I still have some questions about how to report them in our results section correctly.
1. For repeated measures design, we only report the N once. Do we simply report the N with other descriptive statistics (M and SD) of the first level of the IV we put in the results section and report only M and SD for the second level of the IV?
2. For mixed designs, since we have to report all the means for different levels of IV, can we put descriptive statistics of the randomized IV in a table and descriptive statistics of the repeated measure IV in text? Or, do we have to put all the descriptive statistics in one table? If the correct way of doing it is the latter case, how do we fit in both ns and N in one table?

For your first question, include the N only once, but do not put it with the M and SD of either level. Make it separate. Something along the lines of, "we ran a repeated measures ANOVA on husbands (N = whatever)..."
For your second question, place all of the descriptives in one table. I believe at that point you would include the ns for the between groups factor (in APA style), but do not place the N anywhere on the table.

Just as a P.S. to Justin's excellent information, if all ns are reported, you should never also report N. That is, summing the ns would give you N, so providing that information would be redundant.
