In regards to the HW, for the assumption of normality, do we do box plots to check for normality for each analysis, or do we just do a box plot testing the DV and CV?

    I'm not sure I understand your question.

    Do you have a reason to believe that the normality of the pretest variable would change depending on whether you are using it as a DV in the first set of analyses or a CV in the second? Do you expect the normality of the post-test scores to change?
