To report results when you have covariated out an extraneous variable, do you report it as performing a one-way ANOVA and then describe the covariate as the extraneous variable or do you report performing an ANCOVA with a description of the IV, DV and covariate? Do you report the new mean for the covariate?

You report it as an ANCOVA. (That is the analysis you ran. That SPSS did other things in the process is all part of the ANCOVA.) You list the IV and CV. You provide descriptive stats and the name of the DV.

The covariate does not have its mean reported.
