When reporting the degrees of freedom for a t-test where equal variance is not assumed, how do we round it? For instance, my output says df= 20.873.
Do I write t(20.837) = 82
or t(20.84) = 82
or t(20.8) = 82
?

    You'd never use 3 decimals. Either of the others are viable alternatives, as is rounding to a whole number.
