Checking Assumptions

In checking my homogeneity of variance assumption for a factorial, I am trying to get the descriptive stats to check my fmax... in our class handouts, Dr. Clements did Analyze, Descriptive Stats, and clicked over the DV, then did mean, sd, variance, and variable list for options, and it gave her four print outs of descriptive stats for each of experience x divisions... for some reason SPSS only wants to give me one overall box of descriptive stats... is there something I am missing?

Thanks!
Brooke

If you go to "Explore" instead of "Descriptives," you should be able to enter in your grouping variable under "Factor List."

Otherwise, you can ask for descriptives when running the analysis (but you'll have to hand calculate variance from std. dev.).
