ANCOVA Homework

On the rubric for the ANCOVA homework, question #4, Independence of Observation, it says "Dependency is modeled in ANCOVA." What does that mean?

    For this analysis, the participants were tested pre- and post- intervention. However, you covaried out the pre-scores, which is what it means by "dependency is modeled in ANCOVA". The observations from pre to post cannot be independent for each group because they were coming from the same participants, just at two different time points. However, the model accounted for that by covarying out the pre-test scores for both the practice-only group and the practice + tutoring group.
