Explicitly state alpha level?

This may be an old question: Just want to clarify that we DON'T need to state the alpha level when a p value is or isn't significant if it is at the default .05 level. I didn't indicate this assumption in the last homework and it seems okay.

    You're correct. Alpha is assumed to be set to .05 unless otherwise noted.

    Because I think that someone could misread your question, let me respond in this way.

    The p value for each analysis is to be reported. This is true whether the analysis is significant or not.

    The cutoff value you are using for significance (i.e., alpha) is assumed to be .05, unless you say otherwise. If it is .05, there is no reason to state that.
