IV and DV

is it okay if our IV and DV that we chose do not make sense with the numbers in the data file?

    One of the things that will be evaluated is whether your IV and DV are sensible, so this is a good thing to consider.

    Having said that, it really depends on in what way the values don't make sense. If, for instance, the range of the values in the DV does not reflect the values that the DV would take on in real life, you can always redefine the DV (i.e., instead of income per year, define the DV as income per month or week) or change the DV altogether.
