A Few Questions
I have started working on the Factorial Homework and have a few questions:
-On question C, when we are asked to look at the "orthogonality of predictors", I am not familiar with this term-I tried looking it up on the internet but was even more confused. I am not sure what this question is looking for.
-Because there are more than four means to report, the M, SD, and n should be reported in a table. Are there other descriptive statistics we should include?
-Is there a suggested table format we should use?
-To what decimal was the fat index measured-3 decimals?
-APA manual says it is better to report the group size (n) in the note with a superscripted a since they are all the same size- would it be better to report it in the note or in the table?
- For question F, other than using a post hoc that makes allowances for unequal cell size, are there other strategies a researcher should take?

Orthogonality
Please refer back to chapter 3 (section 3.5.4) for a short and sweet description. The end of paragraph 2 of this section and the beginning of paragraph 3 are particularly relevant.
Section 5.6.5 of your reading has a somewhat longer, but also more full description of orthogonality of predictors.
Descriptive Statistics
The descriptive statistics necessary to report have been covered in class, but for a review, see section 2.07 Results in the APA Publication Manual.
Table Formatting
Attend to the guidelines presented in chapter 5 of the APA Publication Manual for the presentation of data in tables. Table 5.9 and the left half of Table 5.10 are the examples that are closest to your data needs for this table.
Precision of Measurement
A very similar question was asked about the DV in the one-way ANOVA homework (See "DV as integers?"). The same answer applies here.
Reporting of n
The APA Publication Manual does note that when the cell sizes are equal it is better to report that information in a note, and you are bound to follow the APA Publication Manual. (Note that equal n has not been the case with our in-class examples.)
Answer to part F of the homework
I'm afraid that answering your question would be answering the question itself. Please reflect on the issues raised by the question and do your best to answer the questions posed.

For table format: Would a table format similar to Table 5.2 be appropriate (cities on top)?
