AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I have a question regarding referencing, working together, etc. There are mixed opinions about what to "cite" and what we should reference, etc. So, my questions pertain to that issue:
Can we work together on the SPSS stuff?
Do we each need to have our own output or can we copy and paste from one computer?
On another questions, it talks about using others' formatted tables...can we actually do that or should we make our own table?
My last question is regarding this blog in general...it seems to give us little direct answers and sometimes causes more confusion. Is there a better way to ask questions such as making an appt to talk w/ the TAs or something?
Thanks for all of your hard work...even though these questions probably will not be answered in time to utilize them for the current homework, please answer them for future reference!

The syllabus clearly addresses joint work: "Students are permitted to collaborate on the completion of data analyses, but each student must individually and independently complete the write-up of the homework."
The writeup includes tables. In one of the sections, a student asked if they were permitted to help others with tables. I said yes, but help does not equal cut and paste or using someone else's table.
It is perfectly permissible to collaborate on the data analyses, on the other hand. And if you ran the analyses together, it would certainly make sense that you would share the same output. You are, of course, expected to have participated in the collaboration. That is, collaboration does not equal cutting and pasting output from an analysis that you were not involved in running.
Homeworks should not have citations. Results sections in general very, very seldom have a citation in them. OTOH, if you did receive help in formatting a table, I have been clear that I need to know that, so you should include a note about that in the homework.
One of the reasons for the indirect answers is that some of the questions seem to be asking the TAs to actually answer a question that is part of the homework. They are not permitted to do that, under any circumstances. Not on the blog, not by email, not in person.
If you feel an answer is unclear, please post that you don't understand what they have said. Another TA or I might well chime in then.
